Description
Dr. Montessori used an impressionistic chart called The Candelabrum of Numeration to introduce the study of decimal numbers. The branches of the beautiful candelabrum are color-coded to correspond to the Montessori hierarchic colors (green for units, blue for tens, and red for hundreds) so that the student can easily observe the relationship between whole and decimal numbers. The flame of each candle contains a color-coded dot to guide the child in the placement of the beads which represent whole numbers and the discs which represent decimal numbers.
